Top Strategies for Resident Engagement
Intentional engagement with residents drives higher quality of services, helps build a community feel and lends to achieving greater outcomes in the resident retention cycle. At CLEAR we aspire to create better homes for better lives and resident engagement is an integral part of that mission.

Surveys are a key element of our strategy, such as obtaining feedback on the resident experience through Satisfacts or involving residents in our decisions to upgrade community amenities. While those digital touch points are important, good old fashioned face-to-face interactions are even better! We take pride in our monthly resident events that provide fun activities while also giving our residents the opportunity to build positive relationships with their neighbors and our staff members. We are in the process of revamping our “Resident of the Month” program to highlight residents that align with CLEAR’s core values and make in impact on our local communities.

We’ve also seen an increased need for top-notch digital communication since the pandemic. We’ve lost a lot of those “face-to-face” contact opportunities that we previously relied on to keep a pulse on resident engagement, so now we must make up for that in other ways such as consistent communication via email and text with our residents. Our monthly resident events have also adjusted to prioritize the health of our residents and we’ve successfully conducted both virtual and socially distanced events. That being said, we are thrilled to see the recent come back to pre-pandemic times!

The bottom line is resident engagement provides a sense of community and keeps us connected in a world where a lot of our human connection has been lost in some respects. All of these strategies not only improve our overall resident experience, but also our employee engagement, so it’s a win-win across the board!
